BESPREN ng mga Senior Citizen
What is BESPREN ng mga Senior Citizen
Our elders have spent most of their lives raising their children to be good citizens and at the same time, contributing to our society's
socio-economic growth during their most productive years. Moreover, even in their twilight years, they continue to serve as role models and good examples to us of the
present generation and to the youth as well.
For this reason, they all deserve a stress-free, untroubled and happy life, and it is now society's turn to repay their services and contributions.
At the very least, both the city government and business community owe it to them to faithfully comply with the provisions of Republic Act No. 9994, or the
Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010 and grant them the benefits and privileges it accords.
But in order to truly express our boundless gratitude and respect to our elders, Mayor Joseph S. Tan launched the "BESPREN ng mga Senior Citizen" program
which aims to provide extra incentives, privileges and benefits to our beloved senior citizens that go away beyond those required by the national law.
For those who would like to avail of the Santiago City Educational Assistance, the applicant shall pass the qualifying exam
held by the City Government every year. Qualified beneficiaries to this component are entitled to receive this Financial Assistance from the
Treasury Office every end of the semester.
Here in Santiago, our senior citizens are extra special to us that is why we continue to look for ways to show them just how much we care for them.
