Santiago City 2030: Resilient, Innovative, Sustainable and Equitable City

In 2030, Santiago City is at the forefront with other progressive cities in the Philippines. With its sustained effort and compassionate commitment, the City is determined to RISE above social, economic, cultural, political and environmental challenges and threats. Championing resiliency, innovation, sustainability and equitability through:

  • Mainstreaming ecologically-balanced development;
  • Advancing social inclusion and human development;
  • Accelerating economic development;
  • Balancing infrastructure development; and
  • Promoting excellence in leadership and good governance;

The development goals of the City are anchored on the basic principle of National Framework for Physical Planning 2001-2030 which highlights the following:

  • Food security
  • Environmental stability and ecological integrity
  • Rational urban development
  • Spatial integration
  • Equitable access to physical and natural resources
  • Private-public sector partnership
  • People empowerment
  • Recognition of the rights of Indigenous People
  • Market orientation

The same is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals that seek to promote equality, mitigate climate change, and hopefully end poverty with the intention to leave no one behind by 2030 and relatively aligned with the AmBisyon 2040 of the current administration that aims to live a ”Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Buhay” for every Filipino family.

With the City’s commitment to empowering every good Santiagueño, the state leans forward to making a difference through sustained integrity, honesty, empathy and consistency in good governance thus leaving no one behind.
