The Department of Education-Santiago Division Office backed Local Government Unit of Santiago during the launching of the first day of administering HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) Vaccine to elementary students of Santiago North Central School today, January 17, 2023.

Schools Division Superintendent Cherry S. Ramos, EdD, CESO V, appeared personally on the said event to give her message to the target students with ages 9-13.

City Health Office spearheaded the vaccination which aims to prevent serious illness if left untreated such as cervical cancer. The virus was also identified with no early symptoms on the part of the infected person making the early detection or diagnosis important.

However, due to limited supply of vaccine from the national, local government units were advised to prioritize the most important group.
