A back-to-back win for Santiago City’s Balamban Dance Festival as the country’s Best Tourism Event for Nature Worship or Myths and Legends Category conferred by the Association of Tourism Officers in the Philippines held last October 27, 2022 at Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City, Cavite.

Joined by representatives of the Local Government Unit of Santiago City, the trophy is handed by the officers of ATOP.

In a message, President Arwin Paul Lingat acknowledged all LGUs in submitting their entries and their firm commitment in tourism development. He hoped that for the following years, as a challenge to the time of pandemic, LGUs should continue to devote more efforts in reviving the tourism industry which will bring employment and opportunities to more Filipinos.

Weeks before the said awarding, a final panel interview was done at the University of Santo Tomas last September 29, 2022.

The ATOP-DOT Pearl Awards recognizes the outstanding efforts of Local Government Units in the promotion of sustainable tourism in the country contributing to the success of the country’s innovation in strengthening the tourism sector. The awarding is a part of the annual National Convention of tourism officers across the archipelago along with the election of new officers of ATOP.
